Beach Walks

Sharp Park Beach (historically Salada Beach)

This beach is right out your front door! Stretching about 3/4 of a mile from the Pier to Mori Point you'll see the gorgeous dark sands of this popular beach.  There is also a great walking/running trail that runs parallel to the beach and is part of the the California Coastal Trail. Great area for a gentle stroll or a more vigorous run.

Fort Funston

Located a very short 10 min drive north, Fort Funston is one of the most scenic beaches in the Bay Area due to the high bluffs above the beach that offer sweeping views for miles.  If you've never seen hang gliders jump off cliffs into the wind this beach is worth a visit. Be aware the stairway path down to the beach is easy to navigate and use but it does require some cardio work getting back up to the parking area.

Montara State Beach

Just a short 10 min drive south on Highway 1, Montara State Beach is one of the best in the area especially on sunny days. With wide expanses of sand and easy access from the road it is a local favorite for families and beginner surfers and boogie boarders.
